Welcome to the Teacher Professional Development in Languages:
The MOE has just agreed to trial TPDL in Samoan and Cook Islands Maori in 2010, with Tongan and Niuean in 2011; and Tokelauan in 2012. This is an exciting professional development for teachers of Pacific languages. The programme enables teachers to:
be an effective language teacher;
improve language proficiency;
understand and effectively apply second language teaching methodology and curriculum;
take a leadership role in the new curriculum area.
